I was born and raised just outside of Boise, Idaho. I had an amazing high school German teacher and I was fortunate to be able to participate in the GAPP program my junior year and spent a month just outside of Mainz. I love my host family and social media has helped us stay in touch. I attended Boise State University, majoring in German. I spent a year in Saarbrücken as part of the program. I obtained my Masters in German at University of Massachusetts Amherst and spent a year in Tübingen. I taught in a public high school in Massachusetts before coming to Seattle. My teaching license did not transfer and so I decided to stay home with my son. I have loved sharing German language and culture with him as he grows. We were thrilled when we learned about EGLS and all of the other local resources available to us. I have been on the board of my son’s co-op preschool for 3 years, and I now look forward to being part of the EGLS community.
