I was born in Ingolstadt and raised in Munich, Bavaria where I also graduated from High School, completed my education with a bachelor’s degree and studied German, French and English at a vocational college for language careers (Fremdsprachen Berufsfachschule). Before moving to Seattle with my family in 2004 we had also spent some time in Hamburg and Fulda. My husband is from the German speaking part of Switzerland and it has always been very important to us that our 2 children know, experience and appreciate the German and Swiss culture. What I appreciate the most about living in the US is the opportunity to experience yet another culture and to learn to see the world from a different perspective which is what I try to teach the kids in the classroom as well.

While teaching German to neighborhood kids during a summer break I discovered the passion for teaching. I love working with kids and to see them improve and progress in their ability to speak the German language. It makes me very proud to see how they develop and improve during the school year.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family (even when I have to hike up a steep mountain), cooking (yes, Bavarian dishes) and crafting.
